Hi Guys,
I've just buy a Flame from Ebay.
After my Eten 600*, I was looking for a bigger screen. The XDA Flame has very attractive hardware specifications and after reading a lot in this forum about this PDA I decide to buy it.
Thanks for all your tricks, explainations and tutorials that are always clear and usefull
Bests Regards from France

Hi Olivier, I hope you enjoy your Flame the big screen is a real joy for me. I too have an Eten M600 & made the same change, largely for the same reason. My Eten now sits at home as a internet radio, so at least it is having a useful retirement
What operating system do you intend to use?

That is exactly the choice I'm about to make : WM5 or WM 6.1 (and which one ?)
The tutorial which shows how to install a new ROM is perfect
WM5 : I'm really use to it with Eten m600* but unfortunately with the Flame there is some issues with this OS (SIP management with Calligrapher)
WM 6.1 : with EFN tweaks probably : are you satisfied with this OS ?
The point is : Will I be able to restore WM5 if needed ?
ROM Version : WWE_RC1070309
BootLoader Version : V2.2C601
GSM Version : P5C2
extROM Version : WWE_RM_070421
RIL Version v07.76

Sorry, please restrict to non technical discussion here.
To answer your question, going back to WM5, either get the official WM5 rom from O2 Website or get Apps call Grab_it from XDA-Dev to capture your current ROM.
Once you have either WM5, you can flash the WM5 Rom back as in the instruction you have read.

Hi there
My first PDa o2 xda bought in 2002. I used it for 6 years. It was a head turner at the time the cell phones did not have even colour screens. I bought the flame only 2 weeks ago, only because the xda1 phone signals started going dead all of a sudden, and I had a problem in obtaining a battery as it is not user replaceble.
The flame size is more compact than XDA 1 as that model had a antenna, which made it bulky.
I have lost my USB OTG cable for the flame. appreciate if anyone can tell me of anyplace, where it could be bought either USA SIngapore, UAE, Australia.Pls give email web or phone number.
Thanks
Hiran
You can find it in ebay not as a cable but as small adapter with 2 ports: one USB (female) and the other mini-USB (male)

this auction is just an example, try to look for the same adapter with cheaper price
